AVAILABLE COURSES
In Canada, there are several courses available for students, including MBA, Masters, B.Tech, Diploma, and Bachelors programs. The eligibility for staying back in Canada and obtaining a Post Graduation Work Permit depends on the duration of the course pursued. STAY BACK PERIOD AND POST GRADUATION WORK PERMIT
To be eligible for staying back in Canada, a student must pursue a course for a minimum duration of 8 months. Courses shorter than 8 months do not allow students to stay back or apply for a Post Graduation Work Permit.
The duration of the course also determines the length of the Post Graduation Work Permit. For instance, if a student completes a course of fewer than 2 years, the work permit will be equivalent to the course duration (e.g., an 8-month course leads to an 8-month work permit). However, students who complete a 2-year course (such as Masters or Diploma) become eligible for a 3-year post-graduation work permit.

COST OF STUDYING IN CANADA
Tuition fees in Canadian universities vary based on the institution and province. Generally, the cost is more affordable compared to other countries worldwide. Technical and medical courses tend to be more expensive than arts courses.
On average, international students can expect to pay tuition and fees ranging from CAD 7,000 to CAD 35,000 per year.

UPCOMING INTAKES IN CANADA
Canadian universities and colleges offer three intakes: Fall Semester (starting in September), Winter Semester (starting in January), and Summer Semester (usually starting in April/May, available for limited programs).
Applicants are advised to apply well in advance, ideally 6 to 9 months before the academic session starts, as admissions and scholarships become more competitive closer to the deadline.

WORK AUTHORIZATION FOR STUDENTS
International students in Canada have the opportunity to work on-campus or off-campus for up to 20 hours during university semesters and full-time during breaks without needing a work permit. Additionally, students studying in programs requiring work experience, such as co-op or internship programs, can also work.

STUDENT VISA REQUIREMENTS
To apply for a Canadian Student Visa, applicants generally need a valid passport, attested copies of educational certificates, academic and employer references, Statement of Purpose (SOP), proof of financial funds, acceptance letter from the educational institution, and proof of payment.

STEPS TO STUDY ABROAD IN CANADA
The process of studying in Canada involves researching options, selecting universities and programs, preparing for entrance exams, financing studies, applying to universities, confirming admission, and obtaining a student visa.

PR VISA OPTIONS
Studying in Canada can provide valuable points for various immigration streams like Express Entry or Provincial Nominee Programs (PNP). International graduates can also benefit from the Post-Graduate Work Permit Program, allowing them to work in Canada for up to three years without needing a Canadian job offer. This work experience can contribute to their Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score for permanent residency.

POST-STUDY WORK OPTIONS
Following the completion of their studies, international students in Canada have access to post-study work options, enabling them to gain valuable work experience. The Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) offers the Post-Graduate Work Permit Program, allowing international graduates to obtain an open work permit that remains valid for three years. This special permit allows graduates to work for any employer in Canada without needing a pre-existing job offer when applying.
